REGULAR MAINTENANCE FOR QUALITY AUTONOMOUS SANITATION

04/04/2018

The non-collective sewerage systems - traditional or approved - must be regularly maintained by their owners and drained by approved professionals, this is what the regulation provides for (Decree of 7 September 2009 amended).

Indeed, the good maintenance of a sanitation system allows the optimization of wastewater treatment and the extension of its lifespan. If annual maintenance and oil changes are to be carried out by a professional, regular monitoring by the user is essential for the proper functioning of the device.

To enable owners to better understand the roles of each, the IFAA (Syndicat des Industries et entreprises Françaises de l'Assainissement Autonome) publishes a leaflet to raise awareness of the maintenance of their installations : "Maintenance of your wastewater treatment sector: instructions for use".
